To make the most of your trip we have a few tips and suggestions that should make your trip more comfortable and relaxed.

Important Documents

Make two copies of all your important documents, such as passports. Take one with you, in a different bag to the original, and leave one at home with a responsible, easily reachable person. Try to memorise all your important numbers - passport numbers, credit card numbers. If you lose your bag, this could be an enormous help.

Climate

The weather is different in each part of Vietnam. In central of Vietnam the weather is lovely.  It is warm and sunny, blue sky, rarely rainy. Expect temperatures in the mid to late 20’s.

What to Pack?

• A light sweater or waterproof jacket just in case
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Sun screen

Are there any health precautions I should take?

Malaria is only present in the rural areas of Vietnam. Low to no risk in other areas including Ho Chi Min City and Danang, the Red River and Mekong deltas.
Please visit the World Health Organisation website http://www.who.int/en/ for further health information.

Foreign Exchange

The Vietnamese Dong has been the currency of Vietnam since 1978. The current conversion is 100 NZD = 1,700 as @ 2018

ATMS are found throughout most major cities. Note; even though the official currency is the dong USD is accepted in most places. Make sure you change your money into the local currency so you have plenty of money for shopping and bargaining at the markets. When bargaining be polite and never argue. Try for the best price for what you want, but don't get upset if you can't

Secure taxi services are available. Please ensure that you look out for registered operators displaying their registration and TAXI sign. Hotels are able to assist with taxi from the forecourt. Avoid unwanted confrontation with a taxi cab driver by tipping approximately 15-20%.
